Robert & Ina

November 24, 2010

This was an interesting wedding for me, because it’s the first one I’ve ever shot that I didn’t meet the bride and groom ahead of time. Robert is stationed in Indiana, so we did all of the preliminaries over the phone. They’re a very sweet couple, even though Robert kept calling me ma’am (it’s because he’s in the Air Force and not because I’m old, right?)

They decided to see each other before the ceremony, and his reaction is great.

Robert let me know ahead of time that he planned to dip her at the altar.

They had the coolest cakes. Since Ina’s family is from Germany, they had a German and an American flag.

Plus a replica of the plane Robert flies.

In Germany, they play games at weddings. In this one, the boys stood on one side and girls on the other. Everyone had an animal noise to make, and they had to find the person who was making the same animal noise on the opposite side. Blindfolded.

They also brought out musical chairs.

They’d just purchased a really sweet ride, so we went out to get a few shots with it.

Ceremony & Reception: Carroll Valley Golf Resort, Carroll Valley, PA
Cake: Sweet Confections Cakes
Flowers: Above the Rest Florist
Dress: Oleg Cassini
DJ: The Spotlight is on You
