Vintage Baseball

July 21, 2012

I’ve posted about these shenanigans more than once, usually on the other blog. But for those of you that have missed it, a few times a year, our friends play vintage baseball tournaments. They play by 1840s rules, so you may notice that no one’s wearing any gloves. The guys get pretty into it, and John’s mustache made another appearance at this tournament up in Addison.

Seriously. No gloves.

The man, the myth, the mustache.

The games are an absolute blast to watch.

John’s not being super metal, here. They call outs “hands,” and this is how you show the team you’ve got two outs. Also, the crowd are called “cranks,” and everyone calls each other “gentlemen” (even the ladies).

If that’s not enough vintagey goodness for you, there are more on Facebook. Next outing is The Big Show – The Ohio Cup in Columbus.
